Never a long wait here. Submitted my CDL Medical form (need to requalify every two years).... stupid over the counter process to get the form into the DMV platform. Never mail anything to Sacramento DMV except maybe registration tag renewals.

Best DMV experience for me, ever. At 9:30 a.m. on a Monday morning there was one person being helped at the counter, and no one in line. The two employees on duty were friendly enough, but mostly businesslike and efficient. I was out of there in less than an hour, and received my new Federally compliant California driver license in the mail today, exactly ONE WEEK after my visit to the Garberville DMV.

This is the best DMV I've ever been to. Like most DMVs the employees are no nonsense and you're lucky to get a smile. None the less they are helpful and want to get you in and out as quick as possible. There is rarely a wait longer than an hour. Multiple times I have been seen with no wait at all.
