I arrived at 8:45am on a Wednesday without an appointment. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The staff were very nice and it wasn’t very busy. The Goleta DMV is soooo much better than San Diego and San Francisco.

A couple years ago my teen took a driver's test here. The staff were professional and friendly, and the appointment went smoothly; however, at my most recent appointment the clerk was rude - almost combative - and seemed to be deliberately unhelpful. Very unpleasant experience.

Everything went just fine. We had appointment but the wait was still about 45 minutes. The system is not based upon "take a number ". This was a Monday a. Middle of the week might prove less hectic ?

Oh my!! I've been to the Goleta many times and in the past was met by uncaring slow personnel who typified the image we all have of the DMV. What a wonderful surprise during my recent visit to be greeted and served by employees who were engaging and efficient. I didn't have an appointment but was served with only a short wait.
