Tina, a lady working at this location was super wonderful. She helped my daughter with her knowledge test among other things. She cared and listened and took the time to help.
Pretty good for a DMV lol. Lines move relatively fast, considering. Be sure to view all the requirements on their website before you go in so you don't just wait in the long lines for no reason
Renewing our handicapped placard and Real ID was a breeze. We only waited for about 15 minutes without an appointment on a weekday morning. Overall, a pleasant experience!
I went in today for my Real ID/drivers license. I came to this DMV originally because I read they were quick and polite. Imo I would say I waited a reasonable time for not having an appointment, but I definitely recommend making an appointment. The staff that helped me were really nice also.
I went to the DMV around 3 PM, expecting the usual long wait, but I was really impressed. The process was smooth and quick, and everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. I was done by 4:15 PM. Honestly one of the best DMV experiences I’ve had thank you to the team for making it easy and stress-free.

It was an extremely pleasant experience! If scheduling time of appointment online, there was no waiting. The check in was pleasant and the technition at window 6 was very helpful and knowledgeable. In and out was very smooth. Highly recommend this site!
i took my behind the wheel test today and was extremely nervous but John was easily the best instructor i could have gotten. he was nice, talked while driving, and really helpful with the directions. i hope everyone gets him if you take your test here!!
It exceeded my expectations. Making the appointment was key. The staff member who cared for us was conjovial. She made the process fly by and seamless. I only hope my photo is as good.
Appointment worked fabulous!! In and out to renew my drivers license before my appointment time!! Completed the required e-learning online which satisfies for the written exam. Absolutely painless!!!
The employees were friendly polo and professional. I am waiting for hip replacement and in a lot of pain these people were such a blessing to me. I had a wonderful experience at this office. I appreciate all the employees that helped me today, they were awesome.
Wow! We have been here three times in the last two years for various services. Everyone has been friendly and knowledgeable. Our wait times have been under 15 minutes.. This is the only location for us! To the staff at El Cajon DMV- keep up the great work!
With an appointment, and all the paperwork necessary, it went well. At one point, folks were crowding the area around the kiosks, and an employee strictly verbally chased everyone out of that corner siting Fire Marshal rules.
Make an appointment no matter what and you are set. Of course it took a bit of time but whoever it was that helped us knew what they were doing and was pleasant to work with.
This has always been the best DMV! I've had a few not so fabulous experiences at the DMV and this one by far is well run. We have to go tomorrow. I hope it's as good as always!? I'll try to leave an update!
