I mean it's the DMV... For just showing up without an appointment I will say it was as good as I would expect. I had all the documents prepared and I treated everyone with kindness and I received kindness in return. When I was called to the counter things were prompt and strait forward. There is always a wait and your not going to get around it. Don't expect to show up without an appointment and expect to be in and out.
Very prompt and friendly service. I made an appointment online and the reminders were very helpful to get me checked in, very efficient.
It's always busy at DMV, and there is a waiting period. However, they are very organized. Once at the window, it was very quick for the representative to complete the task.
Very nice and quiet but not enough seats for customers
For over 30 years this is by far the best DMV for when the website drives me in frustrated circles for a dozen hours across a few tries or deadlines sneak up on me. Everyone has a bad experience story, but I compare it to other Bay Area DMVs over 50 years and reports from friends all these years and the El Cerrito branch is the best organized so I am free to plan and do what I want w my wait time (errands, laptop, get food, etc. I walk away w tags or other documents in my hand. Period. Thanks.
This is my second time visiting El Cerrito DMV. The first time was ok. But the second time, I was so lucky I met the staff that very helpful. He was soooooo kind, nice and thoughtful. He got a positive vibe. I didn’t know his name but he was wearing black glasses and Jean jacket. I wish I could him some credit for such a great service. We need people like him more in the DMV :)
Doesn’t matter when you go there, there are always plenty of people in a lone like any other dmv in California. They all sucks. People’s time must be respected!
It's fairly efficient! Staff know me, as the Driving Instructor, so it's routine for me. Happy for my students who PASS their Road Test, especially first attempt
The DMV visit is a lot different than it was before. they are really organized and they get you in and out as efficiently as possible. I was in and out in 45 minutes or less with all my business taken care of.
Going to the DMV is a pain no matter where you go, but I consistently have a surprisingly easy experience here. Wait times aren't terrible and it's decently organized for a DMV.
This is a fast dmv (comparatively) - i was able to walk in without an appointment on a Tuesday at noon, and file a replacement for a driver’s license, in about 20 minutes. It was worth driving here vs the Oakland DMV which is a lot more crowded because of its location
Fantastic service! On time for my appointment, and friendly, efficient staff! Don't fear the DMV experience here...
Its a DMV, not a restaurant or bar. That said, there was plenty of paking, no line for those of us with an appointment, everyone was very pleasant with me, there was less waiting than I had feared, and, all in all, it was a pretty good DMV experience.
Best DMV experience I've had. Thanks to Megan - quick service with a smile and a laugh. Sorted everything out - in and out in less than 10 minutes. Changed my perception of the DMV! Thanks!
Service was excellent. I'm so relieved to get the tag I needed. Make an appointment. It's a breeze. The best DMV in the area.
This DMV location is very efficient. The clerk who helped me, Mallory was very personable and didn't make me feel rushed. She should be commended.
