I went without an appointment and took a queue number in the morning. I left my place when I was 16th in queue. By the time I reached, my number was already called, but the staff helped me right away. The whole process was super quick. I got my learner’s permit within an hour. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great experience!
Had my Driving test here with Kevin as my examiner. He was amazing in every possible way. Kevin was calm, respectful, and thoroughly professional throughout the entire process. It was truly a pleasure meeting him, and I sincerely appreciate his thoughtful approach. I highly recommend Kevin to anyone preparing for their driving test.
My son took his test with the amazing instructor everyone has been talking about—Jeffrey. He truly lived up to the praise! Jeffrey was calm, patient, and made my son feel at ease throughout the whole process. It was such a relief, especially after our last experience, which wasn’t nearly as positive. From VIN verification to out of state title/registration and real ID services, everything went smoothly and every worker I interacted with was kind and so helpful. The main woman I worked with was truly an angel! She was flexible, understanding, and got everything done in one go. It was about 2 hours total in and out during late morning.
I went to the Santa Clara DMV, waited in line and was called by a lady to the window , the lady's name is Azizeh. She is extremely helpful and polite, she explained all the steps in detail and she made the whole transaction easier, fast and very efficient. I appreciate her fantastic knowledge, patience and skill. Thank you!!!
I took my driving test in Santa Clara in May 2025, and I was lucky to have Kevin as my examiner. He was calm, respectful, and professional throughout the entire process. Most importantly, he helped ease my stress right from the beginning, which made a huge difference and really helped me focus during the test. It was a pleasure to meet him, and I genuinely appreciate his approach. I highly recommend Kevin to anyone taking their driving test.
Surprisingly my most recent visit to this DMV was pleasant! The lady at the entrance proactively asked people who forgot to do the online application to skip the line and fill out the application form using their tablets. The person who handled my case was patient and efficient.
This is a very busy DMV with limited services. So, It's best to make sure they offer the service needed And, consider arriving very early or a different DMV. The parking lot is not big enough to rely and there is not enough seating room inside if it's a busy time.
This place brings back the best memories since I registered my first car in the US, an excellent used Honda Accord back in 2013. The staff were very helpful and courteous especially receiving the biggest diverse immigrants nationwide to receive licenses and other items. The more I visit the more I love those US times full of honesty, happiness and blessings.
Maybe i just had good luck of going on good days? I've never had bad service given the huge number of people they have to deal with and the workers are knowledgeable on what needs to be done. Just make sure you have ample time to stand in line, or have an appointment , to get help in time and you should be good.
I have been to this DMV a few times now and they try to get you in fast. They are helpful. The guard today was a male and friendly and there were no lines or wait times. Thursday 9:45am to 10:30am
Pretty well run. Employee's help out already in the line forming outside. Was there for a regular DL to a Real ID renewal without appointment. In and out in 1h20mins on a 9am opening day where I arrived 5mins early.

Went in for a drivers license renewal with vision test and real id. Was surprised how easy it was. If you have an appointment and complete the steps prior to arriving you will be fine. Easy. Took 1/2 hour. Very reasonable.
The workers here went the extra mile for me,, I had a class A license issue and my regular class c license , there was a misunderstanding so Natalia went and dug into their files came to a conclusion and the lady at window 3 , on 02/13/23 , got me right back to where I needed to be , thanks a lot for their hard work god bless m both ,,,
I had to get a replacement license and this was my third attempt . Staff was friendly and funny . Los Altos location is a complete dump compared to the rockstars here . Thanks for letting me get my replacement license and I got it yesterday .
Amazing service - went in to get my real ID and it couldn't have gone better. Was able to skip waiting line for non-appointments since I had completed application online. Quick document check, short line to get number and about 20 min wait to get to the window to do paperwork and then photo and put. Took me 45 min on total. Great work DMV - thank you!!!
