Today went quick, last time the check in lady was super slow,. very rude, and snapping at everyone coming in. Finally had to request the manager to complete my visit. Must have been one of those days
It took me only 15 minutes without an appointment to finish my driver's license renewal after starting it online. My best experience with a DMV office.

Employees at this location are pretty friendly whether you go first thing in the morning, or an hour before they close. As long as you follow the guidelines the DMV put in place and bring the correct documents, you're golden. Petaluma DMV is easy to find, in a great location, and peaceful as far as DMV's go.
Appointment for 10.40 left at 11.50. Only a license renewal. Thumb print, picture, eye test. Hold up at picture counter.
Even though they are understaffed the people working there are amazing love that they still try to have a good day even when things don't always go smoothly because of staffing issues...thank you employees stay wonderful
The workers here are really kind and friendly. It’s never not going to be awful to go to the DMV but they make it as pleasant as it possibly can be
I made an appointment to renew my license. The people were nice and helpful. I passed my test. Whew its been many many years but I'm turning 70 so time to take the test. I was in and out within a 1/2 hr
I arrived close to 430. I have never been in a DMV that was so quiet. I was in, directed to the appropriate window. Paid for the registration fee and was out in 10 minutes. Amazing!
Applied for Real ID with no appointment. Brought a PG&E bill, car insurance bill, and birth certificate. Filled out application, did thumbprint, did eye test, took photo, paid $39. In and out in 35 minutes. Relatively quick and painless.
People in Petaluma DMV are so kind, specially Lindy she was amazing and calm and sweet during my driving test. It's already stressful for us doing the test but she made my anxiety go down. Lindy in an amazing valuable employee for the DMV.
Every time I've come here without an appointment, I've gotten in right away. Staff are helpful and friendly! Surprised by this as most DMV's I've been to are the opposite! Great experience, I never dread having to come to the DMV anymore. Wow never thought I'd say that.
Every time I've ever gone to the DMV it's been the most miserable experience ever. this DMV branch is everything but. I had a wonderful easy lovely experience today. all of the staff was super friendly and super helpful. Jamie in the registration department is absolutely wonderful. thank you guys so much! Best DMV ever!!!!
I was expecting the worse going in on a monday after a holiday but I was surprised. Hardly stood in line for long, moved right along, barely sat down for 5 min. and my number was called. Sorry I didn't catch the name of the woman that took care of me, she was very helpful and efficient.
No complaints here, despite the usual grumblings from folks who wait too long to do stuff. My suggestion is to do as much as possible on line. I have gone to this DMV for 25 years and they have never made a mistake.
